About Me

Hello! My name is Jocelyn, I’m 26, and I’m a creative and psychic who has a passion for sustainable living and homesteading. I am a witch, a Capricorn, and the definition of an organized mess.

I would describe myself as an “all of the above” hobbyist; I paint both traditionally and digitally, knit, crochet, embroider, sew, write, and do many more miscellaneous creative hobbies. My goal is to build a business so that I can sell my paintings, handmade items, and help others with my readings and runes so that one day I can do what I love full time.

This website will function as both a place to display what I create and share my journey as well as a blog where I can talk about the rest of the ways I’m growing in my personal life.

My art is deeply inspired by farming and homesteading life. You’ll see vast fields with cows and little coops with a handful of chickens. You’ll see the wall of preserves and the fresh bread that just came out of the oven. You’ll see the beautiful landscapes that I hope to live in one day.

The goal of my paintings is to bring my collectors a sense of serenity and reconnection (or a deepening of their connection) to nature.

I paint this perspective in the hopes that it provides my collectors with all of these emotions and a dream to live a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle. I want to inspire someone to grow their first garden for fresh veggies, to raise even just two chickens or ducks or quail so they can have fresh eggs in the morning. I want to inspire people to try making their own ketchup with homegrown tomatoes, or fresh baked bread on the weekends. People deserve to feel that sense of belonging with the earth that we don’t get nearly as much of these days, and I aspire to bring that feeling back. People deserve that deeply rewarding feeling of knowing that they are providing what that they need for themselves and their families by their own hands.

This lines up with my personal goals so much and I expect that within the next few years I’ll be drawing all of my inspiration and references from my own life.

Personally

My personal immediate goals change with the seasons, but the end goal is always the same. The Homestead. I want to build, with David, a fully self sufficient homestead that runs entirely off the grid on solar, hydro, and maybe even wind power if we have the space and resources. I want all of our water to come from rainwater collection and all of our food to be provided by my (still developing) amazing green thumb and our farm animals.

A very big life plan, I know.

To make it a little smaller, a little more obtainable, this year I’m striving to grow a small vegetable garden and look into building a chicken coop. I was able to buy my first house at the end of 2021 and have been so eager to jump into turning my back yard into a little oasis.

It’s a good day to grow a little more 🙂
