Launching Into Spring: A Collection and a Baby

Clearly I’m amazing at this consistent blogging thing. It’s going about as well as my first journal that I started in 2014 and now have 20 pages left here in 2021. I think I completely forgot to mention that my brother’s wife had a baby??

Violet

Violet was born February 19th at 12:30AM. She was 6 lbs and 7 oz. A perfect little package. I met her in person for the first time yesterday when my dad and I arrived in Utah.

She is the sweetest baby and she has such intense dark blue eyes. She is content to lay in your lap and fart all day. Being only a little over a month old, there’s not much else to really know about her, but I can’t wait to see the rest of her personality unfold over the coming years. I’m beyond excited to watch her grow up.

I have three nieces and a nephew from two half sisters, but we didn’t grow up close together. There are only 3 years between me and my oldest niece, and I’ve only seen her and her younger brother a couple times in my life. The younger two nieces from my other half sister I get to see once, maybe twice a year. I’m excited to get to watch this niece grow up and spoil her to death as she does.

Start Small Collection

I’ve finished all 8 paintings that I wanted to include in the Start Small collection already. I asked around on social media and in my family and friend groups and I decided that I would add more paintings to the collection until it is released instead of moving the release date up. I think that will be better to offer collectors more options than to surprise them with an early release. I still need to add more people to my mailing list too.

I had a few ideas for more paintings to add. There are always more farm animals I can paint, the plants are what’s tripping me up a bit. I thought about doing a shelf full of seed starters which I really like the idea of. Then maybe one of a dirty trowel and some gardening gloves, which is garden themed without the plants but I’m iffy on it. I love the idea on it’s own but maybe not for the collection. But then again, it fits the theme just fine. For the animals I wanted to add a baby cow laying in the grass and then a baby goat drinking from a bottle. With four more paintings that will be a pretty good first collection and will definitely keep my hands busy until the release 🙂
